Damen started out in 1927, a family-owned company amongst the shipbuilding community on the River Merwede in the Netherlands. Today, we are still there on the same river banks, still  a family company. With over 30 yards and Service Hubs all over the world, however, 

our focus is global. We are well-known for our unique newbuild philosophy; the construction of standardised vessels for stock. For our clients this means rapid delivery of their asset. And, with R&D undertaken over successive generations of series production, they can count not just on continual evolution, but on reliable performance. The commonality and reliability of our portfolio equals reduced maintenance requirements, leading to maximum vessel uptime, resulting in the lowest possible total cost of ownership over the vessel’s lifecycle. We take pride in this and make sure the same reliability and craftsmanship is applied also to our extensive range of marine components and the ship repair and conversion services that we deliver.
