New International Airport in Xiamen

Time:2017-06-05 Views:

Xiamen New International Airport is located in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China, with a total land use of 46km2, of which the reclamation land area is about 17km2. Once it is completed, the airport will become a hub airport and international cargo port serving for China’s southern Fujian.

The land forming process of the airport will be conducted by several phases. CCCC Shanghai Dredging have deployed 5 CSDs and 4 TSHDs to excavate no less than 32 million m³ and backfill to form the 3.88 km2  land area within 18 months. The medium diameter of the sand in Xiamen Bay is more than 1mm that is classified as gravel sand. The pumping of this kind of material will speed up the depreciation of the equipment and pipeline, which will lead to loss of efficiency.  CCCC Shanghai Dredging  excogitated a new technique that they paint High Polymer Material inside the steel pipe to solve this problem successfully.
